Models

We are putting a new (bought used) cooler in at Pappy's, and the door opens into the cooler, wasting space.  We wanted to see if there was a way to rearrange the cooler so that the door would open outwards.  The cooler panels interlock with a male and female end.

My dad was sitting there moving the panels around (getting nowhere) when I thought of my physics training and decided to make a model of it.   I then took my model and flipped the pieces around until I found a solution where the door opened outwards, and with the minimal amount of reorder the panels.  I thought this was a really clever solution.  Turns out that the way the panels are joined makes this solution impossible, and the door was left facing inwards.  (Yes, I made my model out of a Foster's box.)
