State Fruits

McIntosh

Did you know that the state fruit of New York was the McIntosh?  I don't have a problem with having an apple as the state fruit (New Jersey's is the pumpkin), but why, with all of the apple variates out there, did the pick the mac?  They could have at least picked something palatable.  Or maybe, just maybe, the Empire. 

Plus, everybody knows that empires and macs are interchangeable.   On that note, I heard that Pappy's Orchard has developed a new apple, the E-Mac.  Half mac, half empire this apple can be sold for both!
